On October 21-24, in Budapest (Hungary), the world championship in kettlebell lifting was held together with the youth championship under 22 years old.

More than 400 athletes from 32 countries came to the championship. In some countries, there are still restrictions on training and travel abroad, athletes could not come to the championship.

Let's note the main record results. The "absolute" new records were set: in the biathlon - Ivan Markov achieved the result of 179 + 227 = 292.5 points; Irina Martynova lifted 84 reps in the long cycle. Movsar Suleymanov showed a very strong jerk - 166 reps in the bodyweight category up to 73 kg. In the long cycle, Alexei Ryabkov won with a record of 83 reps (bodyweight up to 68 kg!). Also note the jerk result of Nikita Drutsa from Kazakhstan in bodyweigh class 78 kg - 154 reps.

Next year the World Championship will be held in St. Petersburg.

The world championship among boys and girls U-16 | U-18 was held in Kaunas (Lithuania) on July 2-4. It was the first world championship in the history of kettlebell lifting for athletes of this age. Previously, only continental competitions were held. Over 200 athletes from 11 countries came to the competition amid continued isolation.

In the team event, the victory was won by the Russian team, in the second place - Ukraine, in the third - Lithuania.

The European Kettlebell Championship 2021 was held in Kazan on May 27-30. About 300 athletes from 12 countries came to the competition: Lithuania, Poland, England, Ireland, Czech Republic, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia, Denmark, Hungary, Serbia and Russia.

The viral situation around the world is still making its own adjustments, but the championship was held at the highest level, high results were achieved, and several records were set.

The second stage of the World Cup and International Tournament "Wight Nights" were held in  Saint Petersburg (Russia). Really so many peolpe came here. Athletes finally can compete after the long destriction of the last year. IUKL is going to hold all kettlebell competitions 2021 according our events calendar.

Asian kettlebell championship 2021 was held in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). It was 3rd Asian championship in kettlebell sport history. This time we had about 160 athletes. Lot of them achieved really strong results. It will be so interesting to watch them on the World championship in October.

Kazakhstan team got the cup of the first place of team competition.

European championship 2021 will be hosted in Kazan (Russia). See you there!

2020 year was really terrible for all of us. We couldnt train we couldnt compete and we couldnt travel. Everything was online. 

So lot of athletes tried online competitions the first time. IUKL had 2 online competitions. First one was in April. It was just for supporting athletes who were training home. 

The second competition was official World Cup with medals and certificates. It was really useful for all athletes and totaly for kettlebell sport. 

We hope the next year we will stop virus activities and competing will be possible for all athletes in all countries!

World Kettlebell Championship 2020 was held in Russian Saint-Petersburg. It was not easy to travel around the World for athletes from many countries. They had only 12 countries represented there. But all athletes who came to compete had really good resultd. A few world records were achieved in Saint Petersburg. 

The most impressive result was achieved by Irina Martynova. She has 80 repetitions in long cycle in professional class with kettlebells 24 kg.

IUKL is already planning competitions schedule for the next year. The World Championship should be in Budapest (November); Asian Champ - in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (April); European Champ - in Kazan, Russia (May).

Finnaly after long lockdown we had the first International kettlebell competition. European Open Championship in age groups was held in real mode from September 28 to October 5 in Naestved, Denmark, in compliance with all the necessary safety measures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The strongest teams 2020 in Europe are: Juniors U-22 1st place – Ukraine 2nd place – Latvia 3rd place – Estonia. Proffessioanls 1st place – Ukraine 2nd place – Latvia 3rd place – Denmark Veterans 1st place – Ukraine 2nd place – Latvia 3rd place – Denmark

We also congratulate and thank all the athletes who took part in the competition and once again confirmed the triumph of sports in these difficult conditions! World Kettlebell Lifting Championship will also be held in St. Petersburg (Russia) 19-23 November. We are confident that this competition is an important landmark for the global roaring movement.

All kettlebell competitions were canceled or postponed because coronavirus pandemic. Training is impossible in most gyms around the world. Athletes try to train home or outdoor. 

We hope we can train and compete again very soon!
